Heather grew up in multiple cities all over the world. Born in Sydney, she was moved to Perth, Singapore and then California all before the age of 11. She started taking pictures at the age of 14, self taught by photographing copious rolls of clouds with her dad's old Pentax, not to the enjoyment of her parents wallet of course. As a teenager, she surrounded herself with photographs, fashion ads, magazine spreads, pictures of her friends, and any picture she could find, as a pseudo wall paper effect in her room.

After high school, and a short lived study of psychology, she studied at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena under some very influential instructors, including Ken Merfeld, Jeff Seldik and Paul Jasmin. She graduated in 2008 and after a year of living in New York she began shooting and expanding her horizons abroad in Amsterdam. After returning from Europe, she currently resides in New York.

Her editorial clients include 944 Magazine Los Angeles, Australian Dental Magazine, Epilogue Magazine. Commercial clients include: Cotton Boy Industries, The Hermosa Beach Show, Slate Plus NY, Mark Grossman-freelance art director, numerous musicians including: Aaron Cassou, Chairlift, and Julian Garza and the Bad Cats, and Design Matters-United Nations 60th Anniversary of the Human Rights Declaration.
